Home / Custom Injection Moulding
Novaplas has over 30 years of Injection Moulding experience and can therefore assist through the entire product development process, from Concept to Completion.
Novaplas produces Plastic injection moulded parts and Plastic extrusion products specifically to request. Our experienced team assists with product design, raw material choice, as well as product surface finish.
What Is Plastic Injection Moulding ?
In summary, Plastic Injection moulding is a process of producing parts by injecting molten material into a mould.
Plastic granules for the part are fed via a hopper into a heated barrel, and then melted using heater bands and the frictional action of a reciprocating screw barrel. The plastic is injected through a nozzle into the mould cavity where it finally cools and hardens to the shape of the cavity.
Where is Plastic Injection Moulding used ?
Plastic injection moulding is mostly used in mass production processes especially where the same part is being created thousands or even millions of times in succession.
Novaplas works with a wide range of component types as well as polymers. Furthermore, we have helped many clients in the design and manufacture of their concepts. We can also assist with design improvements or even modifications to existing products.
The Injection Moulding Process
Novaplas works with tool making technicians to achieve the best mould design. The mould is designed according to your specification. We strive to ensure that the initial Tooling investment is also kept to a minimum.
Mould Design and Manufacture
An important factor in the success of most products is the correct mould design. Once product design is approved Novaplas engineers can work with tool making technicians to design the mould with a view to keeping the high initial investment to a minimum. The whole design and manufacture process can be left to Novaplas from concept to completion.
